This is a Health and Safety (HS) position supporting the Solar Turbines San Diego operations.  Position provides daily HS support including development and execution of specialty safety training, interaction with management for problem solving in support of production, audits, regulatory inspections and reporting, and data and analytics.

Position also supports facility, maintenance, and operations projects, ergonomics improvements, property indemnification audits, fire and gas safety assessments, risk management, Contractor EHS Pre-Qualification Program, and a variety of Industrial Hygiene sampling and monitoring.  Writing internal and external communications and reports, managing software databases and spreadsheets, developing, facilitating, and leading presentations for training and project efforts, collaborating with HS staff on EHS and Safety Culture projects and initiatives are additional job duties.

This position could be located at the Harbor Drive OR Kearny Mesa Solar Turbines facility. Minimum Qualifications BS in Health, Safety, and Environmental – related discipline, such as Engineering or Science AND a minimum of three years related professional work experience or MS in Industrial Hygiene and one year related professional work experience.  Related experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

In addition to general safety topics, must have experience performing OSHA regulation research and interpretation, as well as developing programs, conducting training in one or more IH or Safety discipline. Must be comfortable conducting training and presentations for all levels of the business, from shop floor to executive leadership.   In last three years, experience leading and conducting industrial hygiene exposure monitoring using personal sampling instruments, noise dosimeters and sound level meters.  Performed ergonomics or work-station assessments for shop and/or office personnel.   Experience performing research of HS issues and proposed, emerging, or existing HS regulations.

Preferred Qualifications MS in Industrial Hygiene or Safety. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Proficient in Excel.
