The New Silica Regulations: One Tool Manufacturer’s Response to the Need for More Effective Control Measures

As the federal and state government prepares to implement new workplace silica exposure regulations, affected employers are forced to make adjustments to their work practices to more accurately recognize silica and other respiratory hazards in the work place, and also develop effective control methods to protect their workers.

Industry, meaning manufacturers, have responded by investing heavily in technology and innovation across power tool, power tool accessories, and hand tool lines.

This discussion will be from the perspective of a well-known, worldwide manufacture of hand and power tools that has recognized the need of industry and developed cost effective control measures that will enable employers across many different industries to adequately protect their affected workers.
About our Speaker:
Mike Schrager has been working with Milwaukee Tool for the past 3 years and currently serves as Market Manager.  He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison.  He grew up a “garage kid” always working on projects with his family. He spent his entire earlier life in the midwest, moving from Indiana to Wisconsin and finally Chicago before packing his bags and heading west. With the tool industries rapid innovation and fast-paced drive, Mike feels that Milwaukee is the perfect career fit.  He is also an avid sailboat racer and enjoys downhill skiing in the winter.
